The Purposeful Hiker

I used to be a runner and I had goals to complete 1000 race miles before turning 50. My passion for running started when I was 43, running became my world. After a year of injuries in 2015, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis my world would change forever. My blog is not to seek sympathy, it's about my new journey to shift my goals and reshape my life. Without having big goals and dreams it's easy to just make excuses. Shift your life, shape your life, and Be_again!

Things you miss in small towns when you only have your legs to go places. #zero
I said a 🙏 on the top of the The Priest. Let me live... Suffering for heat exhaustion 95° with 100% humidity it was a grueling decent of over 3000ft to my extraction point. I needed to get off trail as tomorrow is going to be even hotter.
Help!
One benefit of section hiking is having a car. Much needed Starbucks after sleeping like shit in a full hostel. Welcome to the bubble...Goodbye car, off to Glasgow soon to get this hike started.
Not again...please for the last time. 77 miles and I will finally scratch off Northern, VA.
And so it's ends today! Until next time...
The rain finally stopped...But not views today from Bluff Mountain.
Off to school I go!
Yeah Baby!
What an epic day! Almost there...Beer? Sure...
We'll, I wasn't supposed to do 12 miles...lol
And away I go...WOW that climb out of the NOC was just brutal.
